12th July 2010, Significant Employment decision

Jane Callan and Jamie Anderson appeared before Underhill J, President of the Employment Appeal Tribunal in the case of Newcastle City Council v Marsden. The appeal sought to test the power of the Employment Tribunal to review its own Judgment, notwithstanding the principle of finality in litigation. Given the issues in the case, it has now been reported in the law reports and can be found at [2010] ICR 743.

5th July 2010, Immigration specialist joins Trinity

Miriam Rasoul bolsters Trinity’s dedicated Immigration practice group. Miriam brings a wealth of Immigration and Asylum expertise including experience of Human Rights issues and Judicial Review. 8th March 2010, New Practitioners

Trinity is delighted to welcome Miss Rachel Smith from Broad Chare Chambers, a family practitioner with 18 years at the Bar, and from Fountain Chambers Teesside, Mr James Kemp with 11 years experience mainly in a civil practice, and Mr James Marwick, also a civil practitioner. Their arrival reinforces the already strong reputation as a leading set (Legal 500 2009) that Trinity enjoys.

Chambers' gained a fourth place ranking in the recently published Black Solicitors Network Diversity League Table 2009 of all the nationwide barristers chambers which took part in the equality survey. This was in relation to the proportion of female to male barristers within Trinity with just over 43% of the barristers being female. This was the first year that statistical data for the leading chambers of the Bar were collated by the Black Solicitors Network as part of the annual survey which reviews the ethnic, gender and disability composition of organisations within the legal profession.
