Senior Civil & Family Clerk
Kirsty graduated in Law with a 2:1 in 2003 after studying at Northumbria University and Thames Valley University. She then went on to complete a graduate training programme with a well know hotel chain in London before becoming Reception Manager. You may have seen' Hotel Babylon' on television - Kirsty learnt about client care the hard way but sadly not with quite so much glamour!
She moved back to the North East in 2005 and joined Chambers firstly as Civil and Family Clerk, then as Senior Civil and Family Clerk in March 2008.
Her primary responsibility is to ensure that the solicitor clients who instruct the barristers in Trinity in civil and family work receive a professional service from start to finish. This involves knowing what the clients require (her law degree gives her a very good understanding of the jargon and procedures), ensuring they are receiving a high quality service (the hotel experience stands her in good stead), and that her clerking team have the training and confidence to deliver the goods. Kirsty also arranges specialist training for the barristers in new areas of work such as the Mental Health Group and arranging seminars (most importantly ensuring there are enough refreshments and the wine is good!).
Away from Chambers Kirsty enjoys cooking, walking and spending time with her husband and young daughter.
