Regulatory work on behalf or against Local Authorities including Trading Standards and Benefits prosecutions. Prosecuting and defending cases brought by the Health & Safety Executive.
Anthony has represented several large Blue Chip companies in relation to such proceedings including fatal accident cases.
Anthony also has experience of dealing with civil actions against the police.
Cases:
Regina v. B[2007] EWCA Crim 23. Anthony appeared on behalf of the Appellant. The case dealt with the restrictions on cross-examination of a Complainant in cases of male rape.

Appointed Recorder in 2001, sitting in both the Crown and County Courts on the North Eastern Circuit and in London.

Additional Information:
During the late 1970’s and early 1980’s Anthony Hawks combined practice at the Common Law Bar as well as being a senior lecturer at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne where he lectured on criminal law and evidence.
