Specialist criminal advocate representing both the Prosecution and Defence.
Paul has an extensive criminal defence practice dealing with all types of serious offending including multiple homicide, rape, child abduction, drug offences, motor offences and serious assault.
Regulatory
Paul also has Regulatory experience including dealing with cases involving large scale investigation by bodies such as VOSA, HMRC and DWP.
Paul has a particular interest in internal Police inquiries and extensive knowledge of Police Disciplinary matters.
He receives instructions in Licensing matters.
Paul has dealt with several Coroners Inquest hearings.
Cases:
- R v Bradley - Multiple homicide. Defendant was an ex-soldier who without any obvious explanation shot dead four members of his family. Briefed as defence junior.
- R v Jones - Police corruption case. Briefed for the Defence in the case where a senior detective was accused of providing sensitive information to a prominent national police target.
- R v Turton - Chid abduction and rape. Briefed for the defence in a case involving the taking of a twelve year old girl from the street. She was driven over 100 miles away from her home and raped in the Defendant’s car.
- R v Mcfarlane and others - Conspiracy to rob. Briefed as junior counsel by the prosecution in case involving multiple offenders carrying out armed robberies over a period of months.
