Ruth Phillips

Specialism:

Having previously enjoyed practising in both criminal and family law, Ruth now specialises exclusively in family law.

In public law proceedings, she is regularly instructed in the Family Proceedings Court, County Court and High Court. She acts for Local Authorities, parents, extended family members and the children's Guardian. Ruth has experience in dealing with cases involving non-accidental injuries, rape/sexual abuse, vulnerable adults, adolescent parents and complex cultural issues including 'honour violence' and 'forced marriage'.

Ruth undertakes complex private law cases. She has dealt with issues including removal from the jurisdiction, sexual abuse/ rape, mental health, factitious illness and implacably hostile parties.

Ruth is experienced in dealing with ancillary relief cases, both private and publicly funded.
