Both prosecution and defence.Tim is regularly instructed by the North east complex case unit. Tim has been instructed in relation to a "cash for crash" inquiry following suspected bogus injury compensation claims.

Regulatory

Tim has dealt with Marine related prosecutions, Trading standards and Environment Agency prosecutions as well as Police disciplinary hearings. Tim has also dealt with Police related Coroners Inquest hearings.

  • R-v-Derwentside Magistrates Ex P. Swift and Bate [1995] 1 J.P.R. 468 – proof required of previous driving disqualification
  • R –v- E. (COA 10.2.08 – reporting restricted) Prosecution right of appeal against terminating ruling
  • R –v- Hamadi, Pedley and Martin [2009] Crim L.R. 523 Human Rights Act compliance of the Dangerous Offender provisions
  • R -v- Brown and Others - magistrate buying designer goods stolen to order by a team of shoplifters
  • R-v- Wang and Others - 22 defendant, 20 premises cannabis farm conspiracy across the north east estimated to have made £4 million
  • R -v- Henson and others - conspiracy to import heroin and cannabis in 1/2 tonne loads
  • R -v- Jones and 14 others - £1.5 million mortgage fraud organised by former detective constable
  • R -v- Button - the 'black widow' murder of husband by wife and nephew for insurance monies
  • R-v- Roche and others - 29 defendant £1/2 million conspiracy to supply ecstasy - including former NUFC striker
  • R -v- Curry - manslaughter by reason of provocation - home owner stabbing man who attended his home armed with an axe
