The barristers in the group have extensive experience of dealing with the primary areas of law to which Public and Administrative issues can relate, for example, prison law, planning, immigration, regulatory, family and mental health. Judicial Review is an area that Trinity have focused on following the opening of the regional Administrative Courts, in particular in Leeds, to ensure a full provision of services to its client base in the North and beyond.

As well as acting on behalf of individuals and organisations the Public and Administrative Law barristers also advise and represent Local Authorities, NHS Trusts and other regulatory authorities in relation to Judicial Review and other administrative law proceedings. As such they have dealt with many aspects of the Human Rights Act.

Members of the group and their clerking teams recognise the need for speed and accurate early advice in managing complex and potentially costly Judicial Review cases and therefore adopt a pragmatic and realistic approach. Both the barristers and clerking teams understand that swift action is necessary in certain circumstances and have experience of turning papers around on an urgent basis.

The Public and Administrative Law team regularly provide training events including seminars and workshops to solicitors and legal departments attracting CPD accreditation. Topics have included Judicial Review for Local Authorities, Judicial Review updates and Human Rights Act updates.

Other practice groups which may be of relevance to administrative and public law include: Business, Chancery, Employment, Planning, Regulatory.
