With over 20 years of experience as a barrister, Alison primarily focuses on all areas of family law including divorce, ancillary relief, private law children and public law children’s cases. Alison is also very passionate about the welfare of animals and regularly takes instructions on animal cases.

Due to her love of animals, Alison has vast experience with animal welfare cases and dangerous dog matters. Alison has written articles for the following publications:

Alison grew up on a farm in the upper Coquetdale valley in rural North Northumberland border country. This is where her love of animals began. Most of Alison’s family remain involved in the farming sector other than her elder brother who is an actor and director, and professor of the performing arts at the University of Philadelphia, USA.

Alison lives a rural lifestyle, with her 3 rescue beagles and 2 horses. Alison's daughter Laura is a BSJA affiliated showjumper, competing at national and international level on her 2 horses, recently placed second in the National Finals at Aintree and qualified for the BSJA spring and Blue Chip championships in 2025.
