Call 2024
Fraser undertook a mixed pupillage with Trinity Chambers in October 2024 under the supervision of Vilma Vodanovic, James McHugh, and Richard Stubbs, and is now a practising barrister predominantly based in Leeds.
Fraser maintains a broad common law practice, receiving repeat instructions across both the criminal and civil jurisdictions.
In his criminal practice, Fraser is regularly instructed to prosecute and defend in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts, dealing with a wide and complex range of matters, including driving offences, proceeds of crime, drug-related offences, weapon offences, and domestic violence cases.
Fraser’s civil practice continues to develop rapidly. He acts on behalf of local authorities, police forces, and private individuals in a range of proceedings, including (but not limited to) homelessness appeals pursuant to section 204 of the Housing Act 1996, housing possession proceedings (both claims and defences), and applications for closure orders and injunctions. He is frequently instructed to provide both written and oral advice in these areas and has developed a particular interest in matters engaging public law principles, proportionality, and the Human Rights Act 1998.
Prior to joining Trinity Chambers, Fraser spent six years with The Football Association, where he served as both Regional Discipline Manager and Senior Discipline Manager. In those roles, he was responsible for drafting and implementing significant regulatory reforms concerning participant conduct and disciplinary processes. Fraser also delivered at the National Serious Case Panel Conference on four occasions, presenting regulatory and procedural updates to both professional and lay audiences.
Fraser previously sat as a Magistrate on the South Yorkshire Bench, adjudicating on a wide range of summary and either-way offences. This judicial experience affords him a distinctive insight into the decision-making process and enhances his ability to anticipate and address the concerns of the tribunal before whom he appears.
Fraser is a keen football supporter and has an avid interest in Nottingham Forest Football Club. Fraser studied the German language for 8 years.
