After his first degree, Kevin read for an MA in Social Studies at Durham University where he also gained the professional qualification of Diploma in Social Work sponsored by the Home Office. Kevin gained his academic and vocational legal qualifications at Northumbria University before undertaking pupillage at a leading and specialist family law set in London.
Prior to becoming a barrister, Kevin worked as a Family Court Welfare Officer (what is now described as a CAFCASS officer) in the North East of England and before independent practice he was engaged as in-house counsel for a local authority specialising in child-protection matters.
Kevin was also a Senior Lecturer at Northumbria University for over fifteen years and Programme Leader BPTC.
