Public Law

Kossar regularly represents parents, CAFCASS and Local Authorities in all courts including the High Court. She has experience of acting in cases involving profoundly serious allegations against parties involving fact finding and consequential applications. She has been instructed as a junior to and appears against Leading Counsel. Kossar has a wealth of experience in dealing with parents who lack capacity and dealing with vulnerable adults and for those from ethnic backgrounds. Kossar has sound judgment and the ability to analyse and distil complex and often sensitive issues. 

Private Law

Kossar is regularly instructed in complex private law children disputes (domestic and international), intractable contact cases and has significant experience of being instructed on behalf of the child in rule 16.4 cases. Her experience includes applications for Leave to remove from the jurisdiction to both Hague and non-Hague Convention countries. Kossar has a clear and sympathetic approach to clients and is known to be very approachable, personable and pragmatic.

Financial Remedy

Kossar accepts instructions in matrimonial finance including financial remedy applications, TOLATA and cohabitation disputes. She has a particular interest in family property cases involving third party assets and disputes over the ownership of property. She is happy to give advice prior to the issue of proceedings to advise on the best approach in cases to try and reduce costs.

Kossar is experienced in dealing with clients whose first language is not English and can speak conversational Urdu and Punjabi.

Junior counsel representing a father successfully resisting an appeal where the trial judge, at the conclusion of a 4 week fact finding hearing involving allegations of inflicted injury, sexual abuse, FII and neglect, had found that the intervener was responsible for inflicting serious head, hymenal and other injuries to the subject child.
