Michael combines a careful and considered approach to advocacy with excellent communication skills. He is developing a successful and versatile practice relating to Business and Property, Housing, and Employment matters.
Michael has a growing Business and Property practice. He has successfully appeared in a number of Fast Track trials and advises on a wide range of matters, including contractual disputes in a commercial context, particularly those relating to contracts of insurance. He has also gained considerable experience of bringing claims under the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
Michael is currently being led in High Court proceedings relating to the protection of confidential information in a business context. He also maintains a particular interest in traditional Chancery work, real property and contentious probate disputes.
Michael accepts a broad range of instructions in relation to Housing matters. He has experience in gaining and resisting possession in both the commercial and residential spheres. He has had success in raising Equality Act 2010 defences to possession claims. His Housing practice includes:
Michael has an expanding and nationwide Employment practice and has represented both Claimants and Respondents. His recent cases have concerned:
Before joining Trinity Chambers, Michael gained legal experience in England and Australia and worked for the Department for Work and Pensions. While studying in Melbourne, Michael's Masters had a particular focus on commercial and Chancery law.
Outside of work, Michael is a keen cricketer who umpires and plays for his local club and in various competitions.
