Members of Trinity's Criminal and Regulatory teams will be delivering an in-person seminar entitled:
“Unavailable Witnesses - Hearsay Provisions & Applications for a Witness to Give Evidence from Abroad.”

Trinity barristers, Josh Normanton and Shada Mellor, will present a practical and interactive seminar covering:

1. Hearsay Provisions:

  • Witness is deceased or unfit to give evidence
  • Location of the witness cannot be ascertained despite reasonable efforts
  • Witness is in fear
  • Witness is outside the jurisdiction, and it is not reasonably practicable to secure their attendance
  • Res gestae
  • Admission in the interests of justice

2. Procedure for securing a witness to give evidence from another jurisdiction.

The event is FREE to attend. Registration is at 5.15pm, with the talks taking place between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, followed by a Q&A session. The seminar will conclude with an opportunity to network with colleagues over refreshments.
