Insolvency & Restructuring Barristers
Insolvency in all of its forms presents unique challenges for the insolvent person, their creditors and related businesses. Barristers in the group act for companies, directors, debtors, individuals in contentious and non-contentious personal and corporate insolvency proceedings to achieve effective outcomes.
Trinity's team of Insolvency and Restructuring barristers act in relation to administrations, receiverships, liquidations, bankruptcy and voluntary arrangements, dealing with advisory as well as litigation matters across a wide range of sectors, including internationally. The team work closely with solicitors, inhouse legal teams and counsel, insolvency practitioners, accountants and business turnaround experts.
Members are available to act on urgent applications and injunctions across the country or in long-running investigation and recovery proceedings.
Barristers in the team have experience in dealing with a wide range of cases, including civil fraud, professional negligence, directors’ duties, shareholders disputes, unfair prejudice, employment law, business and commercial litigation, which cross over with issues relating to Insolvency and Restructuring.
Several barristers in the team are members of the Regional Panel of Counsel for Government Legal Department (formerly Treasury Solicitor) and are instructed on behalf of the Secretary of State. The team includes longstanding members of R3, the trade association for the UK's community of insolvency and restructuring professionals.
