On the evening of Thursday 1st February 2024, Barristers from Trinity's Criminal and Regulatory teams, Josh Normanton and Laura Jane Miller led a workshop on pleas in mitigation for members of the Durham University Bar Society.
During the workshop, Josh and Laura explained how to structure and deliver pleas in mitigation and how to speak clearly and persuasively in Court. In the interactive session, students were encouraged to deliver short speeches based on what they had learnt. All attendees bravely gave impressive speeches in front of a large crowd of their peers.
In addition to the practical advocacy session, Josh and Laura also spoke about their career paths and their experiences at the Bar.
