Black History Month 2025 - ‘Standing Firm in Power and Pride’

2025 is the 60th anniversary of the Race Relations Act. To celebrate this year's Black History Month and its theme of “Standing Firm in Power and Pride”, Trinity barristers Oluwapelumi Amanda Adeola and Anu Kaura explore the background to the 1965 Act and its roots in the 1963 Bristol Bus Boycott  - a defining protest against racial discrimination in the UK that helped inspire the new legislation.

In addition, Oluwapelumi and Anu explore how far this legislation has evolved in the context of their own experiences and careers in the law.
