Miriam Rasoul, specialist Immigration barrister at Trinity Chambers, was interviewed as a part of the "Specialist Advocate" feature in January's edition of Lawyer Monthly Magazine.
In the interview Miriam discussed the complex and ever evolving field of business immigration law. She highlighted the areas of her immigration practice which affected companies and businesses including all aspects of the Points-Based System involving highly skilled persons, entrepreneurs and investors, sports men and women, sole representatives and dependant family applications. As an immigration barrister who regularly appears in the Tribunal, Miriam explained that she had a detailed working insight into where applications go wrong, which in turn meant that when advising clients at the early stages potential pitfalls and common errors could be avoided. Miriam explained that working at an early stage with an experienced immigration barrister ensured a strategic, cost effective approach and in appeal cases, involving a barrister in the early stages ensured that the same person dealt with the case from beginning to end. She also examined the implications of the controversial Immigration Bill.
Miriam concluded that as a forward thinking and responsive Chambers, Trinity offered less traditional services in addition to advice and advocacy such as mock sponsorship audits, process reviews and practical training. These services also benefit from Trinity's employment law/HR and Regulatory specialists within Chambers.
