Trinity specialist Dental and Clinical Negligence barrister and former dentist, Mike Hill, has written a joint paper with Tara Renton, Professor of Oral Surgery at King’s College London to be published in the January 2017 edition of the Royal College of Surgeons Faculty Dental Journal magazine (Volume 8, Issue 1).
The paper is entitled "Issues surrounding the management of patients requiring the removal of wisdom teeth". Third molar (M3M) surgery is one of the most commonly performed NHS procedures and one of the riskiest undertaken in dentistry. Although there are numerous guidelines, standards and statutes on the use and indications for M3M, there is limited supporting evidence available, particularly in relation to the minimising of complications. The paper explores the key issues surrounding wisdom teeth surgery, together with practical recommendations to improve NHS patient care.
A member of Trinity's Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team, Mike was recently recommended in Chambers UK 2017 "He has a good rapport with clients and is excellent with expert witnesses. He is thorough, has a good understanding of the law and, with his dental background, has strong medical knowledge also." "He always makes himself available and sticks to deadlines."
