Latest COVID - 19 Update - Practice Direction 51ZA – Extension of time limits and clarification of practice direction 51Y- Coronavirus.
Practice Direction 51ZA ("PD") came into force on 2 April. This PD allows parties to agree extensions up to 56 days, with any longer period needing to be referred to the court (amending CPR Rule 3.8 as if it refers to 56 days).
A court may also consider the impact of the pandemic when hearing an application for an adjournment, extension of time or relief from sanction.
This PD ceases to have effect on 30 October 2020.
