Criminal Barrister Seminar Dates

Barristers from Trinity Chambers will be delivering two mirror criminal law seminars. The first on the evening of Thursday 28th February will be held at Teesside University, Clarendon Building, Middlesbrough, TS1 3BA and the second will take place on the morning of 2nd March at Northumbria University, Newcastle Business School and School of Law, City Campus East, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8ST.
 
The highly practical seminars are aimed at criminal law practitioners and will cover press and social media intrusion in criminal trials and will also examine the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) - in particular the Supreme Court judgement in the confiscation case of R v Waya [2012] UKSC 51. 

Criminal barristers Caroline Goodwin and Christopher Knox will each be delivering lectures, both are members of Trinity Chambers' Criminal and Regulatory practice groups. 

At both seminars the Trinity barristers will be joined by Chartered Accountant, Peter Smith from Quantis Chartered Accountants who will be discussing forensic accounting in criminal and confiscation matters. Concluding the Newcastle event only will be forensic scientist from Keith Borer Consultants, Alan Henderson, who will be focusing on the use of footmark evidence in criminal proceedings.

The Teesside event will attract 2 hours CPD and the Newcastle event will attract 4 hours CPD. Please note that Alan Henderson, footmark expert, will only be speaking at the Newcastle event on Saturday 2nd March. 

There is a small administrative charge of £15 per delegate for each seminar. Parking charges also apply for the Northumbria University venue.
