Trinity Employment barrister, Richard Stubbs, recently resisted part of the appeal by the respondent in the equal pay case of Graysons Restaurants Limited v Miss C Jones & Others UKEAT 0277 at the Employment Appeal Tribunal, before the president of the EAT, Simler J.

Richard successfully argued that equal pay arrears did transfer to the respondent in an insolvency event (administration) except for 8 weeks of the arrears which were to be paid by the Secretary of State. The case should ensure that many more equal pay claimants are able to recover some compensation where their employer faces insolvency.

Richard is also a member of Trinity's Business, Chancery, Agriculture and Costs teams and is recommended in the leading directories: "He's commercially aware and prepared to understand the client's perspective and importance." "He's well prepared, good with clients and witnesses and easy to deal with." Employment, Chambers UK 2018.

As well as being an accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator and member of Trinity's ADR team, Richard is on the Government Legal Department's Regional Panel of Counsel and is a member of the Football Association’s National Panel of Chairmen for Anti-Discrimination Cases.
