Jamie Anderson, member of Trinity Chambers' Employment Team has this week appeared on behalf of an employer before a hearing of the Central Arbitration Committee (CAC).
The Central Arbitration Committee is a specialist body created by statute and has a number of functions relating to recognition of Trade Unions within the workplace.
The procedures relating to Trade Union recognition and collective bargaining can be complex. It is important for Businesses and Trade Unions to take early advice on matters relating to recognition and bargaining in the workplace.
Specialist employment barristers are well placed to advise both in relation to the procedures regarding recognition and collective bargaining but also the practical solutions that are available to the parties to reach a negotiated position and thus avoiding the need for a costly and time consuming Central Arbitration Committee hearing.
Whilst Jamie practises from Trinity's Chambers in Newcastle and Middlesbrough his employment work takes him nationwide including dealing with Employment Tribunal hearings in Scotland.
