Trinity Chambers' Employment and Discrimination barrister, Jane Callan was a guest speaker at the specialist seminars held at Disability North Exhibition (DNEX) 2013.The annual two day event held at Newcastle Racecourse was sponsored by Pannone solicitors.

Jane Callan, who is also Junior Counsel to the Crown (Regional Panel) and a member of the Equality and Human Rights Commission Preferred Panel of Counsel, delivered a session entitled - "Reasonable Adjustments In The Workplace -What Disabled People Can Expect From Their Employers". The seminar examined the practical implications of the management of discrimination and application of the Equality Act 2010. Other guest speakers included solicitors from Pannone, Irwin Mitchell and Latimer Hinks as well as representatives from Disability North.

Jane has also advised in cases involving schools admissions and exclusions involving the First-tier Tribunal (Special Educational Needs and Disability). Her expertise in discrimination law places her at a particular advantage in dealing with disability discrimination in the context of education, as does her knowledge and experience of public and education law.

The recently published 2013 Legal 500 states "Trinity Chambers' ‘employment group is a clear leader in the North East’". As well as heading the Employment Law group, Jane Callan is also a member of Trinity Chambers' Judicial Review and Regulatory groups.
