Employment Rights Bill 2024 - Richard Stubbs

At Chambers' Employment Law Conference 2024, Trinity barrister, Richard Stubbs delivered a session entitled:
‘Stick or Twist’ - Employment Rights Bill - Likely Areas of Change Under Labour

Deputy Prime Minister, Angela Rayner said at the Labour Party Conference held in September 2024:

“So, when I took on this job, I promised the biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation – nothing less than a New Deal for Working People. And I can confirm today that the Employment Rights Bill will be tabled in Parliament next month. They said we couldn’t do it. Some tried to stop it in its tracks. But after years of opposition we are on the verge of historic legislation.”

The day after the government released details of the much-anticipated Employment Rights Bill on 10th October 2024, and within its pledged 100 day timescales, Richard delivered a full review of the proposed far reaching changes. His talk covers the following topics:

  • Day 1 Rights
