Former family and matrimonial solicitor Stephen Duffy has joined Trinity Chambers as a full tenant following his completion of pupillage in November. Stephen was a solicitor for 18 years and former member of the Law Society Children Panel prior to converting to the Bar.
He will join Trinity Chambers' Family, Costs, Mental Health and Court of Protection practice groups. Stephen’s primary area of interest and expertise is in Family law. He acts in public law cases for local authorities, individuals and on behalf of children. He deals with all aspects of financial remedies. He is also experienced in Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act (ToLATA) matters.
Stephen deals with all aspects of private children law and has regularly appeared in the Family Proceedings Court, the County Court and the District Registry. He is experienced in dealing with cases involving issues of sexual abuse, domestic violence, mental health, non accidental injury and or vulnerable individuals, including the Court of Protection. His practice includes both securing and contesting injunctions as against individuals and assets. Stephen also deals with contentious costs issues with a particular focus on matrimonial finance matters.
