Chambers is delighted to welcome barrister, Lewis Sharp as a new member of Trinity's Family and Matrimonial Finance team.
Lewis was called in 2017 and practices exclusively in family law covering public children law, private children law and financial remedy.
Before moving to the Bar, Lewis worked at a leading firm specialising in contract negotiation where became adept in paperless and remote working, skills that he has carried through into his family practice and have been especially useful during the COVID-19 crisis.
A Northumbria University Law Graduate, Lewis has previously volunteered at the PSU charity (now known as Support Through Court), providing practical and empathetic help to litigants in person navigating the family court without the assistance of a lawyer. This in turn helped Lewis develop his client focused approach at the Bar.
In public law children cases Lewis acts on behalf of Local Authorities, parents, extended family members and children. In private children law matters he is often instructed in relation to fact finding hearings involving allegations of domestic abuse. He has experience in matters involving applications for child arrangements, prohibited steps, specific issue and family assistance orders.
In matrimonial finance cases Lewis has represented clients from the First Directions Appointment to the Final Hearing and is keen to expand his financial remedy practice including exploring alternative dispute resolution such as Arbitration.
