Barristers from Trinity Chambers, in conjunction with solicitors from Eversheds’ Regulatory Team, will be presenting a mock Coroner’s Inquest to members of the Tyne and Wear Branch of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). The event, which takes place on the evening of 24th January 2013 at Durham County Hall, aims to provide a practical insight into how a Coroner's Inquest is conducted following a fictional workplace fatality. The role of the Coroner, expert witnesses and the Jury will be explored as will the various verdicts the Coroner can reach.
The event is aimed at IOSH members who may find themselves involved in preparing for and/or attending a Coroner's Inquest. The event will also be of interest to Directors, Company Secretaries, Senior Managers and HR professionals.
The mock inquest will be delivered by experienced barristers from Trinity Chambers who regularly represent parties at Coroner's Inquests together with solicitors from Eversheds Regulatory Team who deal with all stages of the Inquest process. The barristers involved in the mock inquest are Caroline Goodwin, Ros Scott Bell and James Kemp, each of whom are members of Trinity's Regulatory practice group. James and Ros are also each members of the Specialist Regulatory Advocates in Health and Safety and Environmental Law panel.
