High Court Success For Trinity Business & Property Barristers

In Ahmeds & Ors v Mukith & Ors [2022] EWHC 315 (Ch) the High Court was required to resolve a dispute as to the ownership and control of the Shahjalal Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre, a significant community asset in the west end of Newcastle.

A team of counsel from Trinity Chambers' Business and Property team, led by Simon Goldberg and including Charles Holland and pupil barrister Michael Haywood, represented the successful Claimants throughout the proceedings, which commenced in August 2021 with applications for urgent injunctions and culminated in an expedited trial in January 2022. The instructing solicitors were David Auld & Co.

The judgment of HHJ Jackson is a salutary reminder of the importance of adhering to the strict terms of the constitution of an unincorporated association.
