Head of Trinity's Licensing team, barrister Charles Holland has contributed to urgent industry guidance in response to the hurriedly drafted regulations governing the re-opening of pubs, restaurants and other public venues from 4th July 2020.

The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (England) Regulations 2020 were laid before Parliament at 3pm on Friday 3 July 2020 and came into force at 6am the following day. The new regulations supersede the much-amended Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020.

Charles has summarised the new regulations in his blog, a link to which can be found here.

Charles has also co-authored up to date guidance on the regulations for NEXSTART, the National Exit Strategy Advice and Response Team for the licensed hospitality and entertainment industry. Formed in response to the Coronavirus pandemic, in its mission statement NEXSTART is described as "a coalition of experts working together to identify issues, work to find solutions, contribute to guidance, and act as a resource to support a national strategy for the safe and successful exit of this industry from lockdown. NEXSTART seeks to balance the needs of the public, business and enforcement authorities."

The NEXSTART guidance can be found here.
