In a trial at Newcastle Crown Court, Trinity Criminal and Regulatory barrister, Josh Normanton represented a 17 year old accused of the attempted murder of another 17 year old with a knife.
Witnesses described a sudden attack on the complainant with a knife. Serious injuries were sustained to the complainant’s neck requiring surgery. A Home Office pathologist gave evidence as to the potentially life-threatening nature of the injuries. The defendant denied having the intent to kill.
The defendant was acquitted unanimously by the Jury.
