Congratulations to Trinity Door Tenant, Kate Fenwick, who has been appointed as a panel member of the Bermuda Human Rights Tribunal.
Backed by the Human Rights Commission Bermuda, and comprising of a legally qualified Tribunal Chair and two members, the Bermuda Human Rights Tribunal is an independent and quasi-judicial body that resolves complaints of alleged discrimination. The Tribunal is tasked with making factual findings based on the evidence adduced to determine whether unlawful discrimination has taken place.
Where a Tribunal determines that there is evidence of discrimination, it can make a wide range of orders for full compliance and rectify any injury caused, which may include financial redress. The orders of the Tribunal are enforceable and subsequently registered with Bermuda's Supreme Court.
Whilst remaining a Door Tenant at Trinity Chambers, Kate has moved into international practice and now works for international offshore law firm, Marshall Diel and Myers Ltd in Bermuda.
