Before being called to the Bar in 2017, Kieran spent the previous 25 years practising as a solicitor heading his own firm in Newcastle for some 10 years. An experienced family and criminal practitioner, Kieran was a member of the Law Society Children Panel and in 2008 became a Higher Courts Advocate in both Civil and Criminal proceedings.

With his experience of dealing with a range of complex and distressing Children Act proceedings, Kieran joins Trinity's Family & Child Care team headed by Nicholas Stonor Q.C.. With extensive criminal court experience, ranging from the Magistrates’ Courts to the Court of Appeal, Kieran also joins Trinity's Criminal team. He has appeared in numerous cases in the Crown Court involving serious and complex crimes including murder, manslaughter, rape, sexual assaults, armed robbery, aggravated burglary, drug offences and serious motor offences, including causing death by dangerous driving. He was recently led in the high profile “Operation Sanctuary/Shelter”, a multi-handed case involving sexual exploitation of vulnerable young women, heard at Newcastle Crown Court.
