In Nazir v Jagota & Ors [2021] EWHC 2291 (Ch), head of Trinity Chambers' Business and Property group and Recorder, Simon Goldberg successfully represented four defendants in a complex partnership dispute heard at the Business and Property Court in Leeds.
The claim was for a declaration of a partnership interest in a multi million pound property portfolio. Following a two week trial, the claims against all defendants were dismissed and the High Court made an order for a six figure interim payment on account of costs in favour of the defendants.
Simon was instructed by Angus Ashman at Sintons Solicitors.
Commenting of counsel in the case, Mr Nicholas Thompsell, sitting as a Deputy Judge of the High Court said:
'The court is indebted to both counsel, both for their helpful and learned submissions and for the sensitive manner in which they dealt with the conduct of the trial, given that this was case in which emotions could easily have got out of control.'
