Trinity's Members and Staff warmly welcome Liam Walker K.C. who has recently joined Chambers as a Door Tenant.
Liam, recognised by the Legal 500 2024 as "a true leader in every sense...a force to be reckoned with in court...one of the very best when it comes to advocacy" and in Chambers & Partners 2023 as "a fearless lawyer.." with an "excellent grasp of the law, evidence and the tactics necessary to achieve the best outcome," was called to the Bar in 2001 and became Silk in 2022.
Specialising in criminal, media and regulatory law, Liam regularly acts for clients with a high media profile, including internationally renowned recording artists, media celebrities, actors, world-class athletes and other professionals whose livelihoods and reputations depend on the outcome of a case.
In his criminal practice, Liam defends individuals charged with the most serious of offences, including murder, attempted murder, terrorism, serious sexual offences and complex fraud. As well as being the author of Westlaw Insight’s, ‘Guide to manslaughter’, Liam is a contributor to Taylor on Appeals Vol 3 given his appellate work.
Liam provides pre-charge advice to individuals and corporate entities under investigation or facing prosecution. He also provides multi-jurisdictional advice. Liam is regularly instructed to advise media organisations and individuals on potential exposure to criminal offences, often relating to proceeds of crime and terrorism. Liam has a particular interest and specialism in social media related defamation cases.
In his regulatory practice, Liam is instructed in professional misconduct matters representing registrants before regulators including The General Medical Council (GMC/MPTS), The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and The General Dental Council (GDC).
Often instructed at an early stage where allegations may have formed the basis of criminal charges, Liam deals with sports regulation, regularly representing those alleged to have committed professional misconduct by regulatory bodies.
