Trinity barrister, James Marwick recently delivered a seminar to members of Lawyers in Local Government North East Branch covering Village Greens and Common Land.
The seminar examined dealing with Village Green applications in the Local Authority's capacity as registration authority and land-owner under the Commons Act 2006. The practical session also included a review of procedure and significant changes introduced by the Growth and Infrastructure Act 2013 as well as a review of recent authorities particularly relevant to Local Authorities in relation to Common Land and Village Greens. The event attracted Local Authority solicitors from across the North East as well from North Yorkshire and Cumbria.
James, who is regularly instructed in relation to Village Green and Common Land issues, is a member of Trinity's Chancery, Business, Planning, Costs and Personal Injury teams.
