On Sunday 3rd August 2025, the annual Peter Walsh Memorial Cricket Match was held at Corbridge Cricket Club, bringing together colleagues, friends, and family to remember Peter, a fondly regarded member of Chambers who sadly passed in April 2020.
Peter was a passionate advocate for grassroots sport and a long-standing organiser and captain of the Newcastle Bar cricket team. He was also a devoted supporter of Corbridge Cricket Club, where he occasionally played. Peter took an active role in Corbridge United Junior Football Club, regularly coaching and encouraging young players.
Continuing the tradition established in his memory, 'Walshy’s Wanderers XI', a team made up of Peter’s former Trinity colleagues and members of the local Bar, once again faced a Corbridge Cricket Club side in a friendly and spirited match.
Corbridge Cricket Club scored 103-8 from 25 overs, and the Wanderers scored 104-5 from 21 overs. The day's trophy, Peter's framed club cap, will continue to reside at Corbridge CC club house until next year's match.
