Trinity's members and staff were saddened to learn of the passing of Philip Engelman who had been a full tenant, and latterly a door tenant, at Chambers for many years.
Called to the Bar in 1979, Philip had a renowned practice in Employment, Commercial and Public Law, appearing in numerous reported cases, including those in the House of Lords, the Privy Council, the Court of Appeal, the High Court/Administrative Court and the Employment Appeal Tribunal.
Philip also sat as a Recorder. In addition, Philip was a published author and co-authored the following prestigious titles: Commercial Judicial Review, Sweet and Maxwell and Blackstone’s Guide to the Care Standards Act 2000.
Philip made a significant contribution to Chambers life during his years at Trinity and will be a deep loss.
The thoughts of Chambers' members and staff are with Philip's family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time.
