On 15th November 2012 specialist Planning barrister at Trinity Chambers, Nicola Allan delivered training to Planning Committee Members in West Yorkshire.
The highly practical “Enforcement Workshop” that took place at the offices of Wakefield Council included an introduction to the suite of enforcement actions available to Local Authorities. The session also explored joint working protocols with the police. Nicola delivered various case studies covering common planning issues such as lawful uses, mixed uses and ancillary uses. Committee Members also undertook a case study on Gypsy and Traveller enforcement matters.
Nicola Allan, who as well as being a barrister is also a Chartered Town Planner, is a member of Chambers’ Judicial Review, Agricultural , Chancery and Regulatory practice groups and also heads Trinity’s Planning practice group. Whilst based at Trinity’s premises in Newcastle and Middlesbrough, Nicola acts for clients nationwide in all aspects of Planning including Appeals, Public Inquiries and Judicial Review on behalf of businesses, developers, individuals and Local Authorities. Nicola has also been appointed to the Attorney General's Regional Panel of Counsel.
