On 4th October 2012 Trinity Barristers, James Kemp and Joan Smith delivered a seminar focusing on the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA). The Trinity barristers covered the changes that are due to come into effect in November relating to serious offences and procedures to be followed on an application for approval to the Magistrates Court. The session dealt with surveillance and implications regarding Section 79 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Statutory Nuisance. 

The event took place at Redcar & Cleveland Council’s Eston & Civic Learning Centre in Eston,Teesside. Nearly 60 delegates attended from several Local Authorities including solicitors and enforcement officers from environmental health, housing, benefits, trading standards, food safety, planning, noise pollution.
