The Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, has appointed His Honour Judge Paul Sloan Queens Counsel to be a Senior Circuit Judge, Resident Judge, based at Newcastle Upon Tyne Combined Court Centre with effect from 13 October 2014.
Former Trinity barrister and previous head of Chambers' Criminal Group, His Honour Judge Sloan Q.C. was called to the Bar in 1981 and took Silk in 2001. He was appointed as an Assistant Recorder in 1998, Recorder in 2000 and a Circuit Judge in 2011. His welcome address by Mr Justice Peter Coulson, took place at Newcastle Upon Tyne Combined Court on Monday 20th October 2014.
