Specialist Trinity Insurance barrister, Graham Bartlett will be delivering a seminar to members of the Insurance Institute of Newcastle upon Tyne.
The seminar will take place at the offices of The North of England P&I Association Ltd on based on Newcastle's Quayside on Wednesday, 5 December 2018 between 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
In the session, Graham will review recent insurance related High Court and Court of Appeal decisions covering topics including:
- Insurer’s duties to the insured
- Wording and interpretation of exclusion clauses and warranties
- Fraudulent claims
- Proposals for reforming the Civil Procedure Rules and extending fixed recoverable costs and the potential impact on insurance-related litigation
Following his previous career as a Chartered Loss Adjuster, Graham advises extensively on insurance disputes, including in relation to breaches of warranty and utmost good faith. Graham has dealt with a number of building and construction disputes involving damage to both residential and commercial property. He has also been instructed in relation to claims under the insurance clauses in the JCT Standard Form of Building Contract and on Contractors All Risks insurance policies.
