Following a hearing on Tuesday 8 September 2020, Newcastle City Council has approved an application to extend the premises licence for Newcastle shipping container venue, STACK.

Head of Trinity Chambers' Licensing team, barrister Charles Holland was instructed by solicitor Sarah Smith of Sintons LLP to represent owners Danieli Holdings Limited at the application hearing. The unique venue and social hub on Newcastle's Pilgrim Street opened in July 2018 and has attracted over 2 million visitors.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Charles represented Stack at an online hearing before Newcastle City Council’s Licensing Sub-committee. The extension means that STACK will remain open until 2024.

As highlighted in a previous related article, the same specialist licensing legal team representing Danieli at the early stages of STACK's development successfully opposed an objector's appeal, allowing the innovative venue to go ahead.

Charles is instructed in a wide range of complex licensing matters by clients from across the country and is regularly recognised by the leading industry directories:

"He always provides practical advice and has an ability to navigate problems. He is one of the top licensing barristers in the country." "He is an exceptional advocate with fantastic research skills.
