Trinity Professional Disciplinary and Misconduct barrister, Steven Reed, successfully presented the case against former Inspector Booth at a police Misconduct Hearing, conducted from 1 to 5 June 2026 at Derbyshire Police HQ, presided over by a police Misconduct Panel.
Former Inspector Booth, faced allegations of discreditable conduct resulting from historic allegations of sexual abuse, including rape. Following a five day hearing, in which the Panel heard live evidence from two complainants and the former officer, the Panel found that all the allegations were proved and amounted to gross misconduct.
Having found former Inspector Booth had committed acts of gross misconduct, the Panel went on to find that he would have been dismissed if he was still serving.
