As one of the contributors to Chambers' 2026 Housing Law Conference, Trinity's Gary Willock delivered a session entitled:
‘If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again – Succession, Surrender and a Stepchild’.
In his talk, by reference to the relevant legislation, guidelines and case law, Gary explores the process and procedures relating to succession of secure tenancies, relevant for those working in housing law.
Gary’s talk focusses on two significant cases as they relate to succession:
- Abdelrahman v Islington LBC [2025] EWCA Civ 1038
- Westminster City Council v Kazam [2023] EWHC 825 (KB)
