Taking part in Trinity Chambers' 2022 Commercial Litigation Conference held in Leeds, Business and Property barrister, Morgan Brien delivered a session entitled:
Switching Experts in Commercial Litigation
The importance of having the right expert and their ability to give compelling evidence is often decisive in commercial litigation. Experts, like all witnesses, are not infallible. Their opinions on paper can quickly unravel under scrutiny. In this talk, Morgan explores the implications and practicalities of changing experts when a case hinges on their evidence.
Morgan's session examines the following aspects of that process:
- The difference between applying for an additional expert versus changing an expert
- Expert Shopping and rules on disclosure
- Circumstances when a change of expert is likely to be allowed
There is a handout that accompanies the session. If you do not have a copy and would like one, please email stevew@trinitychambers.co.uk
