Criminal and Regulatory barrister, Tony Cornberg is the latest member of Trinity Chambers. Tony, who was called to the Bar in 2003, joins Trinity’s CriminalRegulatory and Judicial Review practice groups.

Tony has a strong criminal defence practice and appears regularly in Courts across the North East and beyond. He brings with him an excellent reputation for being approachable and for the way he puts even the most anxious and demanding lay client at ease.

Tony is instructed in cases across the full spectrum of serious crime. He has considerable experience of public interest immunity (PII) issues arising from serious sexual offences. He receives regular instructions in cases involving serious violence, robbery, dishonesty, proceeds of crime and drugs conspiracies as well as motor offences and regulatory matters such as RSPCA prosecutions, trading standards, environmental protection and benefit fraud. Tony will also join the barristers in Trinity’s Prison Law team dealing with parole hearings through to prison and human rights related Judicial Review matters.

Tony has, for several years, conducted advocacy workshops with Bar students at Northumbria University. Prior to becoming a barrister, Tony, a fluent French speaker, worked as a freelance interpreter. Whilst Tony will be based at Trinity's Chambers in Newcastle and Middlesbrough, given the breadth of his client base he will be dealing with matters on a nationwide basis.
