Trinity Barrister Co-authors Review of Landmark Cannabis Judgment of R v Margiotta

Trinity Criminal & Regulatory barrister, Josh Normanton has co-authored a detailed review of a leading cannabis judgment in the debate surrounding UK legalisation that has been recently published in Legal 360.

The article, that can be found here, examines the Court of Appeal decision in R v. Margiotta & Ors [2023] EWCA Crim 759 which was handed down on 30th June 2023. The case is seen as a landmark judgment for organisations or individuals engaged in CBD businesses in the United Kingdom. The article reflects that following the judgment prosecuting bodies should carefully consider continuing or commencing any prosecutions relating to low THC cannabis supply or importation generally.
