Trinity Barrister Elected to Bar Council as Under Seven Years Call Representative

Trinity Criminal and Regulatory Barrister, Ellen Wright has recently been elected to the Bar Council as a Self-employed Junior Counsel under seven years in practice representative.

Commenting on her election, Ellen said:

I decided to run for the under 7 years’ call representative position on the Bar Council as throughout the course of my career thus far, I have found the Bar to be a supportive and collegiate place and those at the junior end have made this particularly so. After four years at the Bar, I am increasingly keen to do what I can to maintain this atmosphere for those who are just starting out. A position on the Bar Council will assist in achieving this as I will be able to provide a listening ear to any concerns held by those under 7 years’ call and feed these concerns back to the Bar Council in a resolution focussed way. I will also have the opportunity to contribute to the work of the Bar Council committees promoting principles of inclusivity, equality and access to justice.

Ellen’s term commences on the 1st January 2022 and will run for a three-year period until 31st December 2024. Ellen is joined by fellow representatives Yaa Dankwa Ampadu-Sackey, Yasmin Omotosho and Reagan Persaud.

Trinity’s Members and Staff warmly congratulate Ellen on her election.
