Trinity Barrister Richard Stubbs, has represented Macclesfield Town Football Club (MTFC) this season in successfully appealing the points sanctions imposed against it in an initial disciplinary commission hearing and then in two subsequent disciplinary commission hearings following breaches of English Football League (EFL) Regulations.
Both hearings concerned the late payment of players and the non-fulfilment of fixtures. The most recent decision, whilst sanctioning the Club, ensures that MTFC remains in the EFL, with the two point deduction placing it one point above relegation from the Football League and the other points sanction being suspended into next season as requested by MTFC.
The full decision and reasons are available here. The reasons pay tribute to the high quality submissions of Counsel and the cooperation of the parties in ensuring that the hearing could go ahead safely in these difficult times.
