Trinity Barrister Represents Northumbria Police Chief Superintendent Cleared of Assault

Trinity barrister Steven Reed successfully defended Northumbria Police Chief Superintendent Karl Wilson in relation to allegations of assaulting his wife at their Newcastle home. He faced two charges of assault and a single charge of causing criminal damage.

Denying the charges, the case against Ch Supt Wilson in respect of one of the assault allegations and the criminal damage allegation were dismissed by District Judge Currer at the conclusion of the Prosecution’s case, following an application made by the defence.

Following the day-long trial at North Tyneside Magistrates' Court, Ch Supt Wilson was cleared by the District Judge of the final assault charge.
